2. How long have you been making websites?

a little over 2 YEARS...on and off lol

3. And what got you into the hobby?

seeing how much people were able to do with their website inspired me to make my own site and make coding one of my hobbies ^_^

4. What kind of website are you most interested in?

personal sites that say a lot about the person who made them. a LOT of websites' aesthetics say a lot about the webmasters lol.

5. What's your workflow? Do you plan your websites out thoroughly or do you come up with the design as you go along?

i sometimes set out a plan for my website in my head and even sketch my plans sometimes, but i barely follow those plans, so i end up spontaneously adding new designs as i go along.

6. Please link to your biggest inspirations.

linking all my biggest inspirations would take more time!! look at my credits page! my #1 biggest inspiration: nyanfiles.neocities.org (RIP to the site)

7. What's your favourite part about making websites?

learning how to code new things and customizing things to my liking

8. And the thing you struggle with the most?

having so many unfinished webpages and procrastinating on finishing them because i have other ideas for other pages, you know?

9. Do you keep the same layout on all of your pages? Or do you use different ones?

i try to use different ones

10. How confident are you with CSS?

i'd say i know enough css . . .

11. Do you know how to correctly use <dl>?

i've never heard of that, sorry. i'll look it up *looks it up* ohh it's a description list. cool. i have used that before in the past, and i used it correctly anyway.

decide the background, cursor, and graphics of the new web page

no. i neeeeeeeeeed to learn it tho

kyute sakura miku pink theme (Wow). that's mainly the homepage though

17. Are you more focused on content or design?

content!! any webpage can get boring with no design, but if there's design without any content, it's empty and void...

18. Do you own a domain name? If not, would you ever want to?

no, i don't. i don't think i would ever want to... vanillamilkshake.neocities is just fine with me!!!!!!

19. What do you think of nostalgia-focused or "retro" websites?

no opinion. if you lived in that time period that the "retro" websites are trying to emulate, then that's valid. if you didn't, then...i don't know what to say.

20. Is your HTML valid? Do you even check?

sometimes i make mistakes when coding, and that's why i check if my html is valid.

21. What are your opinion on buttons and banners?

i like them :)

22. What do you think of button walls in particular?

they're cool! they introduce people to new and different websites.

23. If you started over again, would you make something similar or completely different?

i wouldn't start over. i would lose all my progress!

24. Are you envious of other people's websites?

no lol. i just want to get better at coding. when i see a website that i like, i think: "luv their site" or "that looks SO COOL...". at other times i think "how did they do that?" and use the inspect element for help; "their ___ page looks SO COOL...i should get around to finishing MINE." at one point i have wanted my website to be as cool as other people's websites, but that takes time, and my website is pretty cool anyway. it's MINE. i'm not envious of other people's websites. "envious" is a strong word!

26. Why do you use that one?

i use it because it's free and it was easy for me to learn how to work with it.

27. Do you host your image files on your web server, or on another host?

i host some of my image files on my web server, but i leave some image files hosted on their source servers (tumblr, reddit, google, idk). i also use feridinha...and i use catbox for importing fonts. hosting all my image files is on my long to-do list...

28. This might not be relevant to you, but what's your opinion on the Neocities vs. Nekoweb debate?

neocities and nekoweb have their own separate communities, but just use whatever you want. you can even host your website on neocities and nekoweb OR make a url from one web hosting service redirect to another. whateve

29. How much server space would you estimate your main website takes up?

idk maybe 5 mb

30. Do you keep local backups of your files?

no

31. Do you prefer simple or highly visual websites?

both. or neither

32. Do you stick to certain colours? Do you do that on purpose, or is it your subconscious?

i ...usually stick to pink on purpose B)

33. Have you ever thought about quitting? Why?

one time i quit my website because i got discouraged from coding. then i came back. that was in late 2024, around the time i started my site. (extra info you can skip: SO. my neocities join date is in january 2024, but i never used neocities until august 2024. ok)

34. Do you have many webmaster friends, or is it a solitary hobby?

idk. we can be webmaster friends if you want

35. Do people in your real life know about your website?

my family knows i have a website. i just want to keep my online presence separate from my real life.

36. Do you update your website very often? How often is "very often"?

yeah. by "very often" i mean that i update my website from almost every day to once a week.

37. And the overall design, do you change that much? Why or why not?

i don't change the overall design that much because i'm fine with it. when i make major updates, i make sure to adjust the design to my liking...

me-focused

NO.

no. also, i'm too young to work lol. my "work" is being a student and going to school.

yeah, so i can connect with others

yeah well...i use instant messengers for people i know i'm close with lol

i'm STARTING TO ! i listen to rock music the most, but IT REALLY DEPENDS. any artist except COUNTRY.

i only have one website

um...i keep many topics on my site.

i always try my best to present my real self.

indifferent. they just work like that

i had to look up what semantic html was in order to answer this question. w3schools says it's "elements with a meaning" like nav, section, aside, article, etc. i am unfortunately guilty of using generic structure then... :|

google chrome. i don't want to convince anyone why they should use it. i've just mostly been on devices that use google chrome.

i think webrings are a good way to show what you're interested in and to find other websites that are interested in that thing, too. i'm in a few webrings.

i have 3 web shrines so far. by "that sort of page", do you mean in any shrine in general? then i like to see information, thoughts, and images in any shrine.

no. i've never thought of any website as CLICHE. "CLICHE"??!!

i'm striving to put my thoughts into code.

i'm TIRED! i learned how to make websites from editing free-to-use templates, going on websites like w3schools and geeksforgeeks, and watching/reading tutorials on how to code.

no..? i might have tried (and failed) in the past. i'm not sure.

wow. they float! cool. i wanna float too.

no. it would be hard to put two people's ideas and code into one...unless i'm with one of my friends! but then what would i make a website with ANY ONE OF MY FRIENDS about? i don't know. if one of my friends and i made a website together about...the map, directory, and guide of our school, then that would be cool. that's just HYPOTHETICAL though! #THEORETICAL!

not really. not as often as i used to...i just grew out of websurfing for personal websites.

i'm not embarrassed of my old work on my website. i haven't deleted everything out of shame on my site. HOWEVER...(off-topic!!) when i was 10 years old i had this gacha youtube channel. i made a lot of videos there. i then deleted all my videos out of embarrassment and shame.

i would do both.

i guess i reveal a lot about myself...every time i try to be secretive on my Personal website, it doesn't work...
